Ch2 -Motion
Classs-7
Subject- Physics
Chapter-2 Motion
No. Of periods required- 8
Topics :-1. Motion is relative
2. Types of motion
3. Simple pendulum
4. Speed and velocity
5. Uniform and non uniform motion
Procedure:-
I) Introduction- Chapter Motion will get introduced by talking about students ' position w.r.t me and black board.
Ii) Pre Knowledge- Students have learnt effects of force as brings moving object to rest and also moves object which is at rest.
III) Activity/ details
1. Terms rest and motion willl be explained by taking examples from day to day life. Also they are relative terms by taking example of position of passenger w.rt another passenger sitting next to him and w.r.t platform.
2.Objects can move in many different ways. Some of objects in sort of pattern called regular motion whereas motion of some objects donot have any patern called Regular motion.
Different types of regular motion will be explained by taking examples from day to day life
Types of motion
I) Translatory motion - * Rectilinear motion and Curvilinear motion
ii)Rotatory motion
iii) . Oscillatory motion
iv). Circular motion
v). Periodic motion
Activity1 - on mixed motion
A Ferris wheel ( model used) rotates but it's cars are in circular motion
Motion of wheel of car Toy car used) - rotates as well as translatory motion.
3. Simple pendulum - This topic will be explained by conducting following Activity 2
.To find time period of a simple pendulum
4.Speed and velocity
When we talk about motion of an object, we talk about it in terms of fastness and slowness.
There students will know about speed and velocity. and also difference between them.
They will also know about distance and displacement.
Activity 3 :- To find distance and displacement
5. Uniform and non uniform motion
Uniform motion - speed as well as direction remain constant if either of these changes - non uniform motion.
Examples from day to day life will be used to explain the above.
6. Chapter will be reviewed by using rainbow mindmap -
Link for - mind map of motion
Link for 🌈 mind map of Simple pendulum
Assignment - Book's excercise
Assessment -* Objective questions by Google forms
* Work sheet
Value/ skill - Critical thinking, Problem solving
