Lesson Topic: Electricity

Objectives:

1. To understand the different sources of electricity.

2. To learn about the construction and working of a cell.

3. To comprehend the flow of charges between charged bodies.

4. To define electric current and its unit.

5. To identify closed and open circuits and types of circuits.


Procedure:

I. Introduction 

1. Introduce the topic of electricity and its importance in our daily lives.

2. Ask students about their experiences with electricity.


II. Sources of Electricity 

1. Discuss the different sources of electricity: mains, generator, and cells.

2. Explain the working of a wet cell and its construction.


III. Flow of Charges (20 minutes)

1. Explain the flow of charges between:

    1. Negatively charged body and positively charged body.

    2. Negatively charged body and neutral body.

    3. Neutral body and positively charged body.

2. Use diagrams to illustrate the flow of charges.


IV. Electric Current 

1. Define electric current and its unit (Ampere).

2. Explain the concept of closed and open circuits.


V. Types of Circuits

1. Discuss the different types of circuits: series, parallel, and combination.

2. Use diagrams to illustrate each type of circuit.


Activities:

1. Activity 1:Create a simple circuit using a cell, wire, and a small bulb.

2. Activity 2:Draw diagrams to show the flow of charges between charged bodies.

3. Activity 3: Create a series and parallel circuit using cells, wires, and small bulbs.


Assessment:

1. Written Test: Assess students' understanding of the concepts through a written test.

2. Practical Test: Assess students' ability to create simple circuits and identify types of circuits.
